Legislative work commission formed in Cuba
HAVANA, May 5, 2008 (Xinhua) -- Cuba's National Assembly on Monday set up 12 Permanent Work Commissions that will function during the7th legislature established on Feb. 24. The three new commissions created are Agro Alimentary, Energy and Environment, and Industry and Constructions. The rest of the commissions include Health and Sports, Attention to Youth, and National Defense, among others. The work commissions have 25-35 members who are designated by the parliament's plenum. The commission can request reports from the state's central administration, the judicial branches and the legislature.
